The Competition
The NJ Statewide High School Stock Market Game is a pioneering online initiative designed to extend investment education to high school students across New Jersey. Entirely student-organized under faculty oversight, this competition offers a platform where learning is hands-on, practical, and free from financial risk.
Teams of students from public and private schools participate in a four-week simulation, experiencing the excitement of real-time market activity, portfolio growth, and statewide collaboration—all within a secure, educational setting. Our goal is to provide a scalable, annual tradition that democratizes access to investing knowledge.
Wayne Valley Investment Club
Founded at Wayne Valley High School, the Investment Club holds weekly meetings dedicated to analyzing companies, studying financial markets, and developing investment strategies. Club members explore topics like portfolio management, fundamental analysis, and investment research, making it a welcoming space for newcomers and aspiring investors alike.
Our members envisioned and built this statewide competition to share the benefits of investment education with students beyond our own district. Collaboration and curiosity define the club’s spirit, and we’re proud to foster a student-led movement to improve financial literacy across New Jersey.
Faculty Oversight
Every aspect of the competition is guided by faculty advisors—experienced teachers or school administrators who ensure the program meets educational standards and complies with school district policies. At Wayne Valley, dedicated oversight turns ideas into action, guaranteeing each round of the competition offers a safe, well-structured experience.
All participating schools are required to appoint an advisor who communicates regularly with our organizing team. This shared responsibility creates a transparent forum for questions, and ensures that every team receives the resources and support required for a successful competition run.
